My husband John and I moved to Georgia in 1975 and bought our first home in Marietta/Cobb County in 1976. We raised two incredible daughters right here in Marietta and have called the 38th District home for 17 years.
I served in the Georgia General Assembly from 2002 to 2004 and 2008 to today. I was proud of some of the things we worked to accomplish such as The Child Endangerment Law, holding the line on insurance coverage for women's health issues, and protecting the HOPE Scholarship.
As a mom and grandmother I frankly never thought I would seek public office again. I was proud of what we had done and happy to spend time with our daughters and our 7 delightful grandchildren.
To me, public service is an opportunity to make life a little better for Georgia families. Public service requires putting the people you serve ahead of yourself.
I ask for your vote so I can work to give our teachers the pay and the respect they deserve inside and outside the classroom.
My heart is leading me back to the General Assembly to fight for the people and families of our state and of Marietta. I ask for your support, your prayers, and your vote in November and together we can create real change for Georgia.
