GEORGIA DESERVES THE BEST ECONOMY
It feels as though this country, this state is suffering a terrible illness. The trade balance has shifted from export of our goods to import of goods from somewhere else. Too many good paying jobs have been lost and not replaced by growth in new business. Prices for basic commodities such as food and gas are overburdening hardworking families. Greed in the mortgage industry has led to high numbers of foreclosures, calling of loans, refusal of credit and failure of lending institutions. This condition is too much to ask Georgians to bear.
With state revenues continuing to be low, we need to spend those dollars carefully, pinching every penny. Georgia has responsibilities, necessary services it has agreed to provide in return for the taxes it collects. Services such as good public education, improved transportation and choice in approved health insurance providers.
Swift improvements in critical areas such as EDUCATION and TRANSPORTATION are desperately needed to once again bring good paying jobs back to Georgia. |
